in 1933, the Evans Center Volunteer
Fire Company is a
premier provider of emergency
services in Western New York – protecting residents and businesses
along the Lake Erie shoreline and travelers
along 15 miles of the New York State Thruway. The department currently maintains a fleet of three Engines, a Light Rescue, a Paramedic Ambulance and a chief's command vehicle. Evans Center is a non-profit corporation and independent contractor that serves approximately 1,500 residential and 150 commercial and industrial customers in the Angola Fire Protection District. We negotiate for cost-effective contract services with the Town of Evans each year. Supported by a very active ladies auxiliary, Evans Center's membership is made up of approximately 50 active firefighters and EMS personnel, typically 10-15 Firefighter Explorers and numerous social and honorary members. We offer the most flexible membership opportunities of any fire department in the area. Evans Center also proudly sponsors Cub Scout Pack 528, Boy Scout Troop 528 and the Evans Youth Baseball Boys' Minor League Cubs team. For over 50 years, we've donated the property that encompasses four of their seven baseball diamonds. And, our assembly hall is home to the Evans Ladies Home Bureau. We will celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2008. Plans are already underway to create a special occasion to celebrate this milestone. We welcome your input regarding our web site, our operations and the services we so proudly provide.
