As a volunteer department, Evans Center is dispatched through Angola Fire Control, maintained by the Town of Evans Police Department at our municipal building on Erie Road. Utilizing E-911, dispatchers alert the volunteers via Motorola pagers with voice and tone capability. Upon being dispatched, volunteers respond to one of two stations in our district, man the appropriate apparatus, and respond to the scene. Chief officers respond directly to the scene. Angola Fire Control is maintained by the Erie County Dept. of Emergency Services, Fire Safety Division, Radio Support Team. Our primary frequency is 46.20 (VHF-Low) with a back-up county-wide frequency of 46.38. Migration to an 800Mhz system is under consideration by Erie County. STATS: Evans Center was the first in their community to implement the use of the Jaws of Life, Cardiac Monitoring, a Thermal Imaging Camera, and a Rapid Intervention Team.
