Training Makes Car Fires Routine

With long stretches of NYS Routes 5 and 20 plus 15 miles of the New York State Thruway slicing through their district, Evans Center responds to dozens of car fires each year. But that doesn't mean there is isn't room for more training and improved operations.

Thus "car fires" were the topic of a recent mutual-aid training session with Angola and North Evans firefighters held in Evans Center's H.O.T. Zone training facility behind their Erie Road Station #1.    PIX PAGE 2

Firefighting is not for everyone – but volunteering can be. Evans Center offers limited duty memberships in the areas of Fire/Rescue only, Fire Police only, Emergency Medical Services Only, Water Rescue only, or Associate only.  Associate members support the fire department through administrative, technology, fund-raising, clerical and other non-emergency business functions.
