Car Rolls Over
on Icy Roadway

MidTown – Town of Evans NY – January 5, 2004 --- Icy road conditions appeared to be the cause of a one car accident around 7:15 this morning on Route 5 near the Care-A-Lot Day Care Center.

Both occupants were out of the vehicle when Chief Bruce Green arrived on location. The vehicle had crossed over from the westbound side and flipped over into the ditch on the eastbound side.

Rural/Metro Paramedics evaluated both parties and transported them to Lake Shore Hospital for evaluation with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Evans Center Engine 1 and Rescue 7 responded to assist in traffic control as the accident was located on a curve with limited sight distance.

Assisting Chief Green were Assistant Chiefs Tim Szczepaniak and Tiger Schmittendorf, Lieutenant Mike Relosky and Firefighters Dennis Allen, Joe Gerardi, Matt Gombos, Dave Rodrigues, Kevin Snyder, Geordie Sinclair, Tom Szczepaniak and Bob Zamrok. Fire Police Vince O'Hare coordinated the traffic management effort.

Evans Center was assisted at the scene by Angola Fire Control Dispatch Center, the Evans Police Department and Tick-Tock Towing.
