Evans Center Joins in
Homecoming Celebration
Town of Evans NY – MidTown – October 6, 2004 ---
Homecoming for the Lake Shore Central High School Football
Team just wouldn't be the same without the annual bonfire held on the high
school lawn.
Evans Center firefighters helped out by lighting off the
large bonfire created from pallets and cardboard for the hundreds of school kids
in attendance to begin the Homecoming Week celebration held Thursday - October
6. Kids huddled around the bonfire as they listened to the 'battle-of-the-bands'
taking place in the school parking lot.
The bonfire was followed the next evening with the annual
homecoming parade and football game with Lake Shore being the victors.
The large fire reflected off the windows of the school
building to give the appearance of a fire inside the school.
Firefighters thoroughly extinguished the fire following the
celebration.
