Evans Center to Host Chiefs'
Training Officer Workshop

- July 17, 2002 --- The Erie County Fire Chiefs’ Mutual Aid Organization
will offer a “Training Officer Workshop” at the Evans Center Fire Company on
Saturday – September 14, 2002.
The
workshop will feature Ron Endle, retired Special Operations Chief with the City
of Buffalo Fire Department and an adjunct instructor with the New York State
Academy of Fire Science. Endle was instrumental in developing the original
curriculum for the academy-based course offered at Montour Falls NY.
The
one-day workshop will include a tour of Evans Center’s H.O.T.
Zone – the only fire department owned training center in the county. The
Hands-On Training facility features a roof ventilation simulator, two-story
firefighter survival center, mobile home trailer(s), school bus extrication and
multiple motor vehicle props. The training complex is located behind their Fire
Station 1 at 8298 Erie Road in the Town of Evans.
The
workshop will run from 9am-3pm and will be based on content from the National
Fire Academy course: “Instructional Techniques for the Company Officer,”
encompassing preparation, presentation, application and testing of training
classes and evolutions.
Lunch
and refreshments will be provided. Registration is $5 per attendee. Checks
should be made payable to the Erie County Fire Chiefs’ Mutual Aid Organization
(ECFCMAO) and mailed with the registration form (faxed to your agency) to: 77
